Last Saturday, guild members met at the SCERA to discuss some plans for our April puppetry festival. We started the meeting with a website overview and explanation by Jonathan Wilson. This section included some edits and design changes to our guild website, utahpuppetry.com.
Some of us in the guild have taken the challenge to include more and frequent updates so that you know what is happening puppet wise in Utah. If you have some news, an upcoming show, or a general update on something puppetry related, please send an email to [email protected]
The remainder of our meeting was a big mouth foam puppet demo by Joe Flores. He shared patterns, and demonstrated fabrication methods for building our own puppets. The purpose for this workshop was to prepare our puppets for our guild performance of “fractured fairy tales” in April.
We briefly discussed some story ideas at the end of the meeting, and will be discussing them in more depth at our next meeting, Saturday, December 15th at 1pm at the SCERA.
Please join us at 11am that same day for Mark Pulham’s Christmas Puppet performance.
Thanks to Joe and Jonathan for their time and effort, and thanks to all of those who attended. It was a great meeting and a fun time getting to know each other a little better.
