Dear Guild Members and Friends of Puppetry,

Puppets-on-the-Square at the Orem Library last Saturday was a lot of fun and very well attended. It started with a wind that had us all scrambling for stakes, clamps, weight and other devices to hold down the puppet stages. Then the day calmed down and the people came and we managed to perform many fun new shows. A huge THANKS to Amy White and the Orem Library for a great event and a great day.

Now, let’s focus on the October Workshop to be held in Salt Lake City on October 11. The best part is that the theme is “Everything Halloween.” How fun is that?

The workshop will be open to the public for $7/person or $25/family–up to 6 people. This price would include the classes and the follies. Kit fees for those classes that require them would be extra. There should be classes for kids and adults, as well as, teachers, librarians, scout leaders, and perhaps after school program organizers. If you are a current guild member, the workshop and follies are FREE–you would still have to pay for kit fees if the class you want requires one.

Remind your friends and other puppet lovers about this fun upcoming event. As soon as the schedule is finalized I will send out the schedule and the address. So, if you want to teach, perform, or just attend, please let Shelby know ASAP.

Hoping to see all of you there teaching, performing, or joining in this fun puppet event.

Thanks for your love of the art that keeps it alive.

P.S. The St. George, “Laughing Cactus Puppet Workshop” is scheduled for November 14 and 15 in St. George, UT. What a great excuse to get away out of our winter weather. If you have questions or would like an early schedule or would like to participate teaching or performing, please contact Lorie Hawley.
