Piggy Tail Tales and Tongue Twisters
It’s a new year and time for planning new and inspiring puppet activities. Members of the newly formed Northern Utah Puppetry Guild (Salt Lake City and north) are planning a couple of puppet shows/workshops for the month of January and invite the public to attend.
Come see “Piggy Tails” –a few old and some new stories with and about pigs. Then take the “Positively Pompous Pig Patter Alliteration Challenge” and make your own “pigculiar” pig puppet. Participants are then also invited to stay and be part of an impromptu show:
“Percy the Private Eye Prevents a Pilfering Problem” or “Penelope Pig Plans a Party.”
We love the potential of puppetry for its artwork, creativity, and the language interaction it can inspire. Participants will be able to make their own highly specialize sock puppet, learn about the puppetry guild, and check out puppet resource materials. This can be a great creative project time for young families, educators of preschool and elementary children, puppeteers, and, of course, all those young at heart.
Workshops are Saturday, January 9, at the Cottontree Inn, 1030 North 400 East in North Salt Lake from 9 am to 11:30 am, and then again on Saturday, January 16, from 1 pm to 3:30 pm at the Fine Arts Center, 58 South 100 West in Brigham City.
The cost is $3 for kids and $7 for adults* (*$5 for adults not making their own puppet). For more information contact Susan at firstname.lastname@example.org or call Susan at 435-730-2487.
